The training route

From applicant to trainee

After examining the application documents, all applicants who have been shortlisted are invited to individual interviews. Applicants for industrial and technical professions also attend recruitment tests and applicants for commercial professions take part in group selection processes.

With the right requirements and a little bit of luck, you will then be one of the trainees in an industrial/technical, cooperative or commercial profession at Siempelkamp. Those training in industrial and technical professions undergo joint basic training for the first few months and are based exclusively in the training workshop during the first year of their training. From the second year the trainees learn about production techniques and procedures in the specialist departments of our company. The obligatory vocational college teaching is supplemented by our in-house teaching. This combines the theory of the vocational college with the practical training in the company and offers the trainees intensive preparation for their intermediate and final examinations. Our examination results, which have been above average for many years, speak for themselves - and for the quality of our training staff.

After their first induction day, those training in commercial professions find out about the first department as the first stop on their training route through the company. They then work for about 4-8 weeks in each of the commercial departments. At the same time they are involved in specific projects (e.g. fairs) and work on inter-departmental topics (e.g. company presentations) to round off the contents of their training. For the last 6 months of the training, trainees in commercial professions are placed in the area of deployment which is relevant for the final examination and where they are likely to be taken on later.

Effort is rewarded!

Outstanding achievements in the examinations at the end of the training are duly rewarded by Siempelkamp.
