Quality management and environmental management

The Siempelkamp Foundry is regarded as a globally leading manufacturer of large parts made of cast iron with nodular graphite. In order to attain the product quality demanded by our customers, comply with relevant legal requirements and continuously improve processes within our company, Siempelkamp has introduced an integrated management system for quality, environmental protection and health and safety in the workplace.

• Materials
  In order to be able to meet our customers’ special requirements in terms of the mechanical parameters of the cast parts, more than 100 individually tested charge make-ups are available at the Siempelkamp Foundry. In addition, Operations and Quality Assurance also work closely with Engineering to develop new material qualities with special mechanical properties.

Checks All checks, ranging from the raw materials used to the final checks of the finished cast product, are planned and carried out by the Quality Assurance department. As part of the accreditation of the foundry laboratory in accordance with EN ISO/IEC 17025, the competence of the Quality Assurance department with regard to the performance of mechanical/technological tests, metallographic tests, spectral analyses and manual nondestructive testing methods (ultrasound tests, surface crack tests and visual inspections) was confirmed.
