- Skills and knowledge of joining technology as well as welded, soldered, adhesive and screw connections
- Production and maintenance of machine and production systems, as well as their assembly and dismantling
- Equipment at workstations
- Servicing machinery and systems
- Principles of electrical engineering
- Producing technical drawings
- Knowledge of control technology, pneumatics, electro-pneumatics, hydraulics, electro-hydraulics and NC technology

After completing their training, industrial mechanics at Siempelkamp work in system and press assembly, in the maintenance or quality assurance sections, or in research & development.
