CASTOR^®-Cask Bodies

CASTORs are employed as transport and interim storage casks for fuel elements and highly radioactive waste. Siempelkamp supplies and manufactures the thick-walled ductile cast iron cask body with individual weights from 30 to 160 Mg, including the necessary machining on behalf of GNS (Gesellschaft für Nuklear-Service mbH, Essen, Germany) as marketing authorisation holder and owner of the trademark. Thus far, over 400 CASTOR^® cask bodies have been produced at our manufacturing sites.
